Migration support

Switching PACS doesn't have to be a multi-month nightmare. We plan the migration with you and support cutover day.

Legacy PACS migrations fail when vendors hand you an installer and disappear. CurateMD includes migration planning, data extraction support, validation checkpoints, and same-day support during cutover — at no extra charge.

What's included with every migration
  • Device & data inventory (discovery)
  • Detailed migration plan & rollback criteria
  • Data extraction & checksum validation
  • Parallel run period (both systems live)
  • Staff training before cutover
  • Dedicated support on cutover day
  • 30-day accelerated post-go-live response

1
Discovery

Inventory current devices, data volumes, and integration points. Identify migration risks before a single byte moves.

2
Planning

Migration timeline, rollback triggers, validation criteria, and staff training schedule — all documented and agreed upfront.

3
Data extraction

Historical data exported from the legacy system. Checksums verified and spot-checked before import begins.

4
Parallel run

Both systems operational. New studies route to CurateMD; legacy remains available for prior access.

5
Validation

Clinician sign-off, workflow verification, and full integration testing before the go/no-go decision.

6
Cutover

Legacy decommissioned. CurateMD is primary. Support team on standby for the full cutover window.

Risk mitigation

Every migration has risks. We document them upfront and build mitigations into the plan.

Data loss during extraction

Checksum verification on every batch. Side-by-side study counts. Spot-check validation by clinical staff before import is accepted.

Workflow disruption

Parallel run period keeps the old system live. Rollback plan is written before day one. Staff trained before cutover, not during.

Integration failures

All integrations tested in a staging environment first. Go/no-go checklist signed off before cutover day begins.

Downtime during cutover

Cutover scheduled during your lowest-volume window. Support team is live — not on-call, live — for the full duration.

Support during cutover

Cutover day isn't when support ends — it's when you need it most.

CurateMD provides dedicated support during the cutover window and accelerated response for the first 30 days post-migration. You're not handed a ticket queue — you have a direct line to the team that ran your migration.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep my historical data?

Yes. Migration includes extracting historical studies from your legacy PACS and importing them into CurateMD. We verify counts and spot-check quality before cutover.

What if something goes wrong during cutover?

We document rollback procedures before cutover day. If critical issues arise, we can revert to the legacy system while we resolve them.

Do you support parallel operation?

Yes. During the parallel run phase, new studies go to CurateMD while legacy remains available for prior access. This reduces cutover-day risk significantly.

What happens to my legacy PACS after migration?

That's up to you. Some practices keep legacy systems in read-only mode for a transition period. Others decommission immediately after validation.
